Fizik Cyrano R3 Bull Road Bars
You may not have enough spine flexibility to touch your toes, but that doesn't mean that you should be relegated to using equipment that doesn't fit, or that makes your time in the saddle less than comfortable. Fi'zi:k has taken its Spine Concept Fit system and applied it not only to saddles but also to handlebars. The Cyrano R3 for Bull is designed specifically to work with a less flexible rider's needs.
The Cyrano R3 is virtually identical to the R1 Bull. The primary difference is the material. The R1 was constructed of uni-directional carbon fiber, and the R3 uses a more economical aluminum.
The reach and drop measurements sound similar to other handlebars. So, what makes this bar ideal for a rider classified as a Bull? Well, many times, a rider with an inflexible spine is stuck holding onto the hoods of the bike as the drops are not appropriately shaped for adequate hold — the Cyrano's drops are shaped so that a Bullish rider may easily reach all positions in the drops. The drops of the Cyrano R3 are angled from the brake hood clamp area toward the back at about a 45 degree angle (give or take a few degrees). This slight adjustment in shape allows you to use all of the drops whether you are in a full sprint or just trying to get low for a long windy segment of your ride.
The Cyrano R3 Handlebar weighs 245 grams for the 420mm wide bar. The Cyrano R3 Bull is available in four widths 400mm, 420mm, 440mm, and 460mm. These widths accommodate a wide variety of riders. The reach is 75mm in 400mm width and 80mm for the other three width option. The drop ranges from 125mm in the 400mm wide version, to 130mm in the three wider bars. Cyrano series is designed to form the cockpit, when combined with the Cyrano stem and seatpost.
