Kudos to Alaska Tri Aspire - Paul Jumamil & Kristiane Lim!
This past weekend, Visayan athletes Paul Jumamil and Kristiane Lim were in action at the San Remigio 8080 event in Cebu. The event consisted of a 1,800 meter ocean swim –a 65 kilometer draft legal bike – and a 14 kilometer run.
Paul went straight into the lead from gun start, where he remained the entire race recording the fastest splits over all 3 distances.
Kristiane played a more tactical race, deciding not to help his 3 man group on the bike. This allowed Paul to gain a bigger advantage entering the run leg, by maintaining a steady rhythm and having the advantage of the lead motor cycle.
Once on the run, it was everyman for themselves. Paul maintained a challenging rhythm on his way to winning his 5th triathlon over the past3 months. And then Kristiane managed to bag 3rd place, to round out the elite podium.
