ZIPP Hookless Technology

If you’re new to this concept, this video is for you. We explain everything. We explain how hookless rim technology creates a seamless transition between the tire and the rim for improved aerodynamics. Hookless technology and Making You Faster.

Zipp Tangente SL Speed Tubular Tire

The Tangente SL Speed Tubular Tire sits atop the Tangente line as a race-specific tire best suited for fair weather and dry roads.

The SL Speed tub utilizes a super plush 320 TPI casing made from a mix of cotton and latex for a supple ride and confident road feel. Zipp incorporates a carefully guarded rubber compound for exceptional grip to rail corners and jump on the attack, and a puncture protection belt helps to reduce the potential for race-ending flats. To cap things off, these tires feature a tread pattern that Zipp claims is designed to optimize aerodynamics.

Zipp 404/808 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Wheels

This Zipp 404/808 Firecrest V3 wheel combination is purpose-built to dominate the race; it's strong, light, and extremely fast. This is packed full of innovations; as a race companion it's stiff, lightweight and aerodynamic, perfect for every road you travel. Zipp's proprietary Carbon Clincher technology provides unrivaled strength, durability and reliability with confident awe-inspiring stopping power. Sporting the highly aerodynamic Firecrest rim profile; it provides greater stability and predictability in the crosswinds.

Zipp 808 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Road Wheels

The 808 Firecrest's side-wall bulge and Advanced Boundary Layer Control (ABLC) texturing are its signature features, both of which contribute to improved stability at the kind of yaw angles you'll actually experience on the road, not while cloistered in a wind tunnel. ABLC is especially important for this generation of Firecrests because Zipp's engineers revisited the sizes and distribution pattern of the signature dimpling.

Zipp 404 NSW Carbon Clincher Road Wheels

Zipp have continually impressed us with their inability to leave winning designs well enough alone. The 404 NSW Carbon Clincher Road Wheelset is the latest fruit of their restless tinkering, and it improves on the already impressively improved 404 Firestrike model. These improvements start with a claimed weight that's 65g lighter than the Firestrike equivalent and 135g lighter than the Firecrest. The improvements continue in three other key areas: aerodynamics (of course), the freehub, and braking. We'll get to the hub shortly but, this being Zipp, we're inclined to focus first on the rim.

Zipp 404 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Wheel

We realize the likelihood of you needing a replacement Zipp 404 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Wheel is nil, but we still want to look after you and provide it, anyhow. Even if replacement isn't your intent, everyone is able to benefit from the 404's new hybrid-toroidal rim shape and bearing position. It's also good to keep in mind that an 808 setup's stability and handling can be greatly increased by using a 404 up front on windy days. Regardless of the reasoning, the 404 Firecrest Carbon Clincher will heighten your top end, and deliver an unparalleled versatility in ride quality.

Zipp 303 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Wheels

The 303 Firecrest features a 45mm rim that provides aerodynamic advantages while maintaining stable handling in crosswinds for a smooth, stress-free experience even on windy days. A wide, 26.4mm brake track gives the tire a secure stance without impacting rolling resistance and increases stability by nearly eliminating the side bulge effect found in tires mounted to narrower rims. The wider rim makes for more tire volume, and that means lower rolling resistance and more confidence for cornering on rails — all while providing a comfortable ride along the way.

Zipp 202 Firecrest Carbon Clincher Wheels

The 202 Firecrest features Zipp's lowest profile with a 32mm rim depth that provides exceptional crosswind stability on exposed descents. Its 24.62mm brake track is compatible with a range of tire widths to accommodate different riding styles and surfaces. The wider rim also gives tires a solid platform to increase stability by reducing the side bulge effect found in tires mounted to narrower rims.
