Santini 2014 Summer Interactive Aero Bibs

While they may not pedal themselves, the Santini Interactive Aero Bib Shorts are inspired by the kits of the World Tour teams. From their cut to their interaction with the jersey of the same name, they truly are a bib short built specifically for comfort and overall support in the saddle.

Santini constructed the Interactive bib shorts to work in conjunction with the Interactive jersey. To this end, it designed them from the chamois out. Using its top-tier MIG3 insert, emphasis is placed on rider comfort. The MIG3 is the lightest of the Santini inserts, and it features a gel core. But, not to worry, this isn't the gel from your grandmother's beach cruiser seat cover. This is a multi-density anti-shock silicone gel. Not only does this composition make it lighter than traditional gel inserts, it also means that it absorbs shock constantly and gradually. It always returns to its original shape — even after countless hours in the saddle. It's covered with seamless microfiber to minimize chafing.

The shorts themselves are sewn from highly flexible and breathable mesh panels. They are specifically designed in panels that work with your body's movements while you are pedaling. Oversized, anti-slip Lycra leg bands at the hems not only hold the shorts in place, they also provide a little extra support for thigh muscles during hard efforts. The bib straps were constructed from highly perforated mesh to aid in ventilation. Most importantly, the external zipper at the back of the bib shorts seamlessly integrates them with the Santini Interactive Aero Jersey. This creates a kit that functions with the same aerodynamic efficiency as a skinsuit, without the constriction or hassle when Mother Nature calls. The zipper is discretely placed so as to be unobtrusive to the rider.
