The Race last is similar to Lake's Competition last and, similarly, is designed for high-cadence, high-pressure riding, but has a slimmer fit with a narrower toe-box and tighter heel. The supple Clarino microfibre upper is extremely lightweight and highly breathable, so when you're spinning up those cols and mountains, your feet will remain cool and fresh.

MX Sport Last – This last features a larger, more roomy toe-box than our Comfort last while providing increased foot control through the heel & saddle of the foot. The wide version offers 15mm of additional volume at the ball of the foot over the standard width last. The resulting fit is designed for aggressive riding while remaining comfortable to wear all day. Ideal for couriers, adventure cyclists & anyone else who wears their cycling shoes for long periods of time. .

The Lake CX176 Road Cycling Shoe fits the higher cadence & longer ride times which characterize road cycling require excellent foot control to avoid hot-spots & numbness. With a much closer fit than any of our off-road lasts, our Sport last cradles the foot securely to prevent any unwanted movement. This last features a precisely fitted toe-box, high arch & mid width ball girth.

The men's CX175 Shoes adapt many features from the more expensive CX217 model with a few changes to rein-in the price and provide a different fit option. The key change is in the outsole, with Lake opting for a fiberglass-reinforced nylon platform on the CX175 instead of the CX217's carbon fiber sole. This means that the CX175 lacks some of the power transferring capabilities of its more expensive stablemate, but — for anyone except a dedicated racer — the slightly less efficient sole won't be an issue. In reality, whatever your day in the saddle has in store, the CX175 is fit for it.
